Fabriqué à partir d'un mélange équilibré de laine, de soie tussah et de lin, Lima offre résistance et respirabilité, ainsi qu'un éclat doux. La soie tussah, souvent appelée soie de la paix, est produite après que la mite de soie est naturellement sortie du cocon. Cela crée une fibre légèrement plus texturée, qui interagit magnifiquement avec les teintures naturelles.

L'ajout de lin introduit un délicat moucheté et une douce irrégularité, donnant au fil une profondeur visuelle et du caractère.

Our Himalayan nettle yarn is hand-harvested from wild nettle plants growing in Nepal and spun by hand using traditional methods. Untreated and naturally processed using only water and wood ash, it retains the integrity and character of the original fibre.

The yarn carries the quiet irregularity and variation inherent to hand-spun plant fibres. Its natural colours range from soft grey and beige to warm, earthy tones, reflecting the fibre’s origin.

Historically known as “poor man’s linen,” nettle fibre shares many of linen’s qualities — strength, breathability, and durability — whilst offering its own distinct texture and presence.

This yarn is entirely plant-based, biodegradable and produced through ethical small-scale production supporting rural families and traditional fibre knowledge.

The Síoda Special Collection explores the full expressive potential of natural colour on silk.

Indigo notice

Some blue colourways are dyed with natural indigo. A small amount of colour transfer to hands or needles during knitting is normal and temporary.

After finishing your garment, soak briefly in cool water with a dash of vinegar, rinse gently, and dry flat to help settle the dye.

With its luminous mulberry silk content and soft merino wool base, Síoda responds to natural dye in uniquely beautiful ways. Colours develop with depth, subtle sheen, and quiet variation, enhanced by the way silk reflects and absorbs light.

Each skein is individually dyed at AppleOak FibreWorks using traditional, sustainable natural dye methods and organic dye materials. These studio-dyed skeins are produced in small batches, allowing colour to develop organically through layered immersion and oxidation.

The result is a yarn of exceptional softness, luminosity, and individuality.

Soft, breathable, and refined, Síoda is especially suited to garments worn close to the skin and pieces where colour, drape, and fibre quality are central to the finished textile.
