Toutes les laines AppleOak sont fabriquées à partir de fibres naturelles et colorées à l'aide de teintures naturelles traditionnelles, le cas échéant. Nous travaillons avec la laine, l'alpaga, le yak, la soie, le chèvre, le chanvre, la ramie et l'ortie — des fibres choisies pour leur intégrité, leur longévité et leur toucher naturel.

Toutes les laines colorées sont teintes en interne à l'aide de teintures naturelles. Nous n'utilisons pas de métaux lourds ni de produits chimiques synthétiques améliorant la couleur, et dans la mesure du possible, nos teintures sont cultivées et traitées biologiquement par nos soins dans notre atelier à Co. Clare.

100% Wool | Lace Weight | Naturally Dyed

Lása is a uniquely fine yarn in our range — delicate, luminous, and deeply responsive to natural colour.

Traditionally considered a weaving yarn, its exceptionally fine structure and strength make it equally suited to lace knitting, held double knitting, or carried alongside other yarns to add depth and subtle colour variation.

Its smooth surface allows natural dyes to penetrate deeply, producing rich, saturated colours with beautiful tonal depth whilst remaining softly semi-solid.

Though fine, Lása retains strength and cohesion, making it a joy to work with for lace makers, weavers, and knitters drawn to delicate structures.

The wool is sourced and spun entirely in Peru. Each skein is then naturally dyed at AppleOak FibreWorks using traditional, sustainable natural dye methods and dye materials.

Lása is exceptionally fine yet strong, allowing for delicate structures with excellent durability.

Its smooth surface produces deep, luminous natural colour with subtle tonal variation. When held double or combined with other yarns, it adds depth, softness, and colour complexity.

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight when drying.

Shade continuity

Each skein is dyed using traditional natural dye methods. Subtle variation between skeins is a natural and valued characteristic of natural dyeing.

For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins during use.

Síoda est l'un des fils les plus lumineux de notre gamme — alliant douceur, drapé et le lustre incomparable de la soie.

Fabriqué à partir d'un mélange équilibré de soie de mûrier et de laine mérinos, ce fil offre résistance, respirabilité et un confort exceptionnel contre la peau. La soie apporte son éclat caractéristique et son drapé fluide, tandis que la laine mérinos procure élasticité, structure et chaleur.

Doux et élégant, Síoda glisse sans effort sur les aiguilles et crée des vêtements au drapé délicat et au luxe discret.

La laine mérinos est sourcée et traitée au Pérou. La soie de mûrier de Chine est mélangée et filée avec la laine au Pérou pour créer le fil fini. Chaque écheveau est ensuite teint naturellement chez AppleOak FibreWorks en utilisant des méthodes de teinture naturelle traditionnelles et durables et des matériaux de teinture organiques.

Les couleurs de teinture naturelle se développent magnifiquement sur ce mélange de fibres, créant des tons riches avec de la profondeur et des variations subtiles.

Caractère

La combinaison de soie de mûrier et de laine mérinos crée un fil avec un éclat doux, de la douceur et de la résistance.

Continuité des nuances

Chaque écheveau est teint en utilisant des méthodes de teinture naturelle traditionnelles. Une légère variation entre les écheveaux est une caractéristique naturelle et appréciée de la teinture naturelle.

Pour les projets plus importants, nous recommandons d'alterner les écheveaux pendant le tricot.

The Síoda Special Collection explores the full expressive potential of natural colour on silk.

Indigo notice

Some blue colourways are dyed with natural indigo. A small amount of colour transfer to hands or needles during knitting is normal and temporary.

After finishing your garment, soak briefly in cool water with a dash of vinegar, rinse gently, and dry flat to help settle the dye.

With its luminous mulberry silk content and soft merino wool base, Síoda responds to natural dye in uniquely beautiful ways. Colours develop with depth, subtle sheen, and quiet variation, enhanced by the way silk reflects and absorbs light.

Each skein is individually dyed at AppleOak FibreWorks using traditional, sustainable natural dye methods and organic dye materials. These studio-dyed skeins are produced in small batches, allowing colour to develop organically through layered immersion and oxidation.

The result is a yarn of exceptional softness, luminosity, and individuality.

Soft, breathable, and refined, Síoda is especially suited to garments worn close to the skin and pieces where colour, drape, and fibre quality are central to the finished textile.

Yak fibre is among the softest and warmest natural fibres available, offering insulation, breathability, and remarkable softness. Blended with mulberry silk, the yarn gains strength, gentle luminosity, and fluid drape.

Spun as a balanced 3-ply yarn, Yeti combines softness with durability and produces fabrics of remarkable lightness and warmth.

Undyed and presented in its natural shades, this yarn reveals the inherent beauty of yak and silk fibres. Each colour reflects the natural tones of the animals and fibres themselves.
