ÉRIU DK SOFT

Irish Wool Blend | DK Weight | Naturally Dyed in Ireland 🇮🇪

Ériu DK Soft is the gentlest expression of our Irish wool yarn — soft, luminous, and deeply connected to place.

Made from Ériu's signature blend of Romney lambswool and Bluefaced Leicester wool, this yarn balances softness with durability. Romney provides strength and structure, whilst Bluefaced Leicester contributes smoothness, elasticity, and its characteristic gentle sheen.

The wool is sourced directly from Irish farms, including small flocks and a growing fair-trade network of farmers across Ireland. From fleece to finished yarn, Ériu reflects a commitment to regional fibre, traceability and textile heritage.

Softly spun and beautifully balanced, Ériu DK Soft creates garments with smooth stitch definition, gentle drape, and lasting resilience.

Each skein is offered either in its pure undyed form or naturally dyed at AppleOak FibreWorks using sustainable, traditional natural dye methods and organic indigo.

Character

The Romney and Bluefaced Leicester blend creates a yarn that balances softness with durability. It has a gentle lustre, smooth stitch definition, and natural resilience.

The undyed yarn reveals the natural beauty of Irish wool, whilst indigo-dyed versions develop depth and quiet tonal variation.

Care

Hand wash gently in cool water
Reshape whilst damp
Dry flat

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight when drying.

Shade continuity

Each naturally dyed skein is dyed using traditional, sustainable natural dye methods. Subtle variation between skeins is a natural and valued characteristic of natural dyeing.

For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins during knitting.
