Irish Wool Blend | DK Weight | Naturally Dyed Multicolour in Ireland 🇮🇪

This special collection explores the full palette of natural colour.

Using Ériu's signature Irish wool blend of Romney lambswool and Bluefaced Leicester, each skein is dyed individually at AppleOak FibreWorks using a wide range of traditional natural dye sources. Colours emerge through layered dyeing, over-dyeing, and careful handling in the dye vat, creating rich multicolour variation across the yarn.

These skeins carry movement, depth, and quiet unpredictability — tones shift along the length of the yarn, revealing themselves fully only when knitted.

The wool is sourced directly from Irish farms and spun in Ireland. Each skein is then naturally dyed in our studio using sustainable methods and a combination of homegrown and traditional natural dye materials.

No two skeins are fully identical.

Natural dyes used

• Cochineal (insect-derived, not vegan)

These dyes may be used individually or in combination through layered dye processes.

CORRIE

100% Wool | DK Weight | Naturally Dyed

Corrie is a soft, velvety single-ply wool yarn, spun in Peru and naturally dyed at AppleOak FibreWorks using sustainable natural dye methods.

Its smooth, gently spun structure allows stitches to settle evenly whilst maintaining softness and flexibility. It moves easily on the needles and knits into garments with a fluid, relaxed drape.

Corrie was developed as our first naturally dyed DK-weight yarn — lighter than our chunkier Stockholm yarn, yet equally satisfying to work with. It is especially well suited for sweaters, scarves, and garments worn close to the skin.

From sheep to finished yarn, the fibre and spinning are completed entirely in Peru. The final natural colour is applied in our dye studio using low-impact, sustainable dyeing methods drawn from traditional natural dye practice.

Each skein carries depth, softness, and the quiet variation unique to colour drawn from nature.

Flexible Wollschnur mit natürlichem Sackleinenkern. Diese Kordel besteht aus 100 % ungefärbter Wolle, die um einen Sackleinenkern gewickelt ist. Ideal für Bastelprojekte im Innenbereich, z. B.: Hocker, Matten, Sitze, Teppiche.


Ich habe kürzlich einen Teppich aus diesem schönen Garn gewebt und war überrascht, wie wenig man braucht, um eine große Fläche zu bedecken. Der Teppich ist robust, saugfähig und sehr strapazierfähig.
