Environment:
Linen can be expensive, but it is also much better for the environment. Flax plants are very resilient, they can grow in poor soil, and require very little water. What’s more, every single part of the flax plant is then used in making all types of products, from linen clothing to varnishes.
Health:
Similar to silk, 100% linen is wonderful for people with sensitive skin and those prone to allergic reactions like "prickly heat" in hot weather. For women who suffer from "hot flushes", 100% linen is the most comfortable answer in warm environments.
Care:
Linen can't and shouldn't be ironed. The creasing is part of the natural allure. The creasing also molds the garment, and in practice the more creasing there is, the less evident it becomes as the whole garment softens.
Linen loves being washed and dries much quicker than Cotton. The more it is worn and washed the softer the fabric becomes. It also lasts much longer than cotton, as it is harder wearing and a much stronger material.
*orders of more than one piece will be cut in one continuous length unless instructed otherwise *
I would love to describe Linen as the European version of Silk. The best linen is produced in Ireland, Belgium and some other European countries.
*Pictures show the washed fabric*
Liolina is an interesting blend of bleached and natural coloured, slubby spun linen yarn and one of my personal favourites. The fabric has a textured look and feel and is extremely versatile as well as economical. Not only in the dyeing studio, but also how it can be used. It is heavier than most of our linens and will make for some interesting garments or home decorations.

DOLL JERSEY ~ De Witte Engel Quality. The best in our opinion!
Well known for making Steiner/Waldorf Dolls, this double knitted fabric is a pleasure to work with and a pleasure to cuddle! It is knitted in the round creating a tube like fabric with no seams.
Please read below for more info.
De Witte Engel in-house Doll Jersey has gained worldwide recognition for its thick high quality, wide colour range as well as for its extra soft and smooth feel. Doll jersey as a material has specific requirements which make the manufacturing process more complex than normal jersey. Therefore, doll jersey has become a specialty product for only a few companies in the world.
De Witte Engel Doll Jersey is made in Europe from ökotex certified, 100 % cotton yarns and is dyed according to European legislation code EN71 guidelines. These certificates proof that De Witte Engel Doll Jersey is natural, sustainable, and free from toxic and harmful substances and colourants, and especially safe to use in children’s toys.
The quality of De Witte Engel Doll Jersey is elevated by a double-knit technique. This technique makes our Doll Jersey thicker and more durable as it has two layers of knit together instead of one. This also means that when stretched, our Doll Jersey does not become see-through. These small but crucial steps make all the difference also for the final product the dolls. Even minor variations in the stretch or colour can affect the proportions, durability and life-likeness of the doll. Therefore, De Witte Engel 100 % cotton Doll Jersey is a reliable and consistent choice for crafters and doll makers in every corner of the world.

I love jacquard knits, they add cheer to any wardrobe, keep you warm in the winter and the merino yarn just keeps you all snuggled up. I always wear Merino jacquards during the cooler months and can only highly recommend them. This lovely knit reminds of autumn colours, a combination of red, turquoise, light green and orange on a beige background.
* PLEASE NOTE: The grey background shown in the picture is slightly different to the actual one used, which is a light beige in colour. Do order a sample first if not sure.
What is Jacquard?
Jacquard is a broad term, but it basically means that the pattern is a woven design rather than printed.
This lovely jacquard fabric is perfect for the cooler months of the year. Snug and warm, this fabric will need sewing unlike our other wool fabrics so far.
Warm, but breathable, this would make a lovely cardigan, waist coat, cape, jumper, skirt, coat, jacket, poncho, shawl, leg or hand warmers, children's clothing and even cushion covers or blankets. Also sleeping bags for babies or hot water bottle covers can be made from this fabric.
