Yarn and Fabric Care

Keep the vibrancy of your yarn shinning through the years with these simple tricks!
Caring for your beautiful naturally dyed garments, yarns and fabrics:
Handwash in lukewarm water with Ph neutral soap
Dry and store away from Light (including Sun and indoor lighting)
Wash, dry and store garment inside out
Please note: Vinegar does not fix natural dye and can change colour if used with the wrong dye.
Special care for certain dyes
Notice for Colourways on yarn, containing Lac, Indigo, or Cochineal dyes
Although this yarn has been thoroughly rinsed, if dyed with Lac, Indigo or Cochineal, excess dye may work to the surface when being knitted, due to the combination of moisture, PH and friction.
Indigo
It will not rub off onto skin when being worn (unless they are Indigo dyed socks and sweaty feet), though caution should be practiced when wearing the garment over light clothing,  ie. white or light grey during the first few months.
All three dyes benefit from being soaked in Vinegar water:
Add 125ml of white vinegar to soaking bath and soak for 30 minutes.
This will pull out any excess dye. After a few washes any run off will subside.
