🌿 Mastering Botanical Prints on Linen & Cotton – A New Course with Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw

Blue leaf prints on fabric

Are you drawn to the idea of printing with leaves, working with seasonal plant colour, and creating textiles that tell a story of place, time, and process?

We’re thrilled to welcome textile artist Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw to the Natural Dyers & Growers Academy with her upcoming 8-week online course:

✨ Mastering Botanical Prints on Linen & Cotton Using Natural Dyes

This course is a practical, in-depth journey into the art of botanical printing on cellulose fibres, that is, linen, cotton and plant-based cloth. It’s designed to help you move beyond “happy accidents” and learn how to produce clean, intentional, lasting prints using plant material, natural dyes, and tannins.

🌿 What You’ll Learn

Week by week, Elisabeth will guide you through:

  • How to prepare and mordant cellulose fibres

  • Selecting and understanding leaves, tannins, and dye plants

  • Building a test sampler and analysing results

  • Setting up a home studio safely, no matter your space

  • Completing a final project that brings together everything you’ve learned

The course includes:

  • Weekly video lessons and downloadable PDFs

  • Six live Zoom calls for guidance, questions and community

  • 6-month access to the course and our Co~Lab Room for continued support

🌼 Who This Is For

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced natural dyer wanting more control and precision in your eco prints, this course offers structure, clarity, and Elisabeth’s calm, expert guidance.

It’s especially useful if:

  • You’ve dabbled in eco printing but never quite understood why some things work and others don’t

  • You want to create repeatable results on plant-based fibres like linen and cotton

  • You’re ready to shift from experimentation to intentional, seasonal textile work

🌍 Learn from Anywhere

All you need is a kitchen or home studio space, some curiosity, and a love of working with the natural world. You don’t need specialist tools—just a willingness to learn and a few leaves from your local surroundings.
