Strong cotton warp yarn designed for reliable weaving.
This 100% cotton warp yarn is spun in Germany from American cotton and constructed specifically for use as warp on the loom. The tightly structured yarn provides strength and stability during weaving.
Available in three different thicknesses, the yarn can be used for a wide range of weaving projects — from strong textiles to lighter woven fabrics.
Supplied on 250g cones, the yarn feeds smoothly and consistently when warping and weaving.
The cotton fibre also makes this yarn suitable for traditional natural dyeing, producing beautiful results with natural dyes.
| Size | Length | Construction | Approx. Length per Cone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thick | 133m / 100g | Nm 20/3 × 5 (15-ply) | ~332m |
| Medium | 222m / 100g | Nm 20/3 × 3 (9-ply) | ~555m |
| Thin | 333m / 100g | Nm 20/3 × 2 (6-ply) | ~832m |
These values provide a general starting point. Final sett will vary depending on weave structure and desired fabric density.
| Yarn | Suggested Sett | Suitable Projects |
|---|---|---|
| Thick Cotton Warp | 8–12 epi | rugs, bags, strong textiles |
| Medium Cotton Warp | 12–16 epi | towels, medium fabrics |
| Thin Cotton Warp | 16–22 epi | scarves, lightweight fabrics |
Open weave structures may require a slightly lower sett, while twills and denser fabrics may benefit from a higher sett.

There is a particular honesty to Donegal tweed.
Born of landscape, weather, and generations of textile tradition, this yarn carries the quiet complexity of the Irish coast — soft greys, moss greens, ocean blues, and the subtle flecking that defines Donegal's characteristic landscape.
Spun and commercially dyed in Kilcar, Co. Donegal, this is an authentic Irish Aran-weight yarn made from 100% pure new wool. It is warm, durable, and deeply satisfying to knit with — the kind of yarn that settles into garments made to be worn for years.
Whether you are knitting a traditional Aran jumper or a contemporary everyday piece, Donegal tweed brings depth, texture, and heritage into every stitch.
• Traditional Aran jumpers
• Sweaters and cardigans
• Hats, scarves, and mittens
• Durable everyday knitwear
Donegal tweed is known for its heathered base and distinctive flecks, created during blending, carding and spinning. These subtle variations give finished garments depth and life, and connect them to a long Irish textile tradition.
