27 Micron | 100 g | 12 Shades | 100% Mulesing-Free Wool | Dyed in Germany
A vibrant collection of wool fleece coloured with traditional natural dyes — soft, expressive fibres presented in a harmonious palette of twelve shades.
Each 100 g mixed bag contains a selection of colours created with natural dye sources such as indigo, madder, birch and weld. Some shades are produced using cochineal, a traditional insect dye long used in natural colour work.
The fleece is dyed in Germany using gentle, time-honoured techniques. The wool comes from mulesing-free farms and retains its natural character and lively fibre texture.
Because of the natural dyeing process, the fibres may be slightly pre-felted, giving the fleece a pleasant body and texture. While this can make wet felting a little slower, the fibre remains excellent for needle felting, spinning, blending, weaving and textile art.

Long Staple Wool | Strong Lustre | Ideal for Transparent Felt
Beautiful Wensleydale wool in combed top form.
At 31 microns, this is a coarser fibre with long, smooth, lustrous locks. It produces strong, characterful textures and is especially suited to transparent and lightweight felt surfaces.
When felted in thin layers, this exclusive wool creates particularly translucent felt with a lively, expressive surface. Ideal for wall pieces, light objects, and textile installations.
Minimum order: 100g.
• Wet & Dry Felting (transparent or layered effects in wet felting)
• Textile art and installations
• Weaving
• Light objects
• Decorative textiles
• Spinning (adds lustre and strength in blends)
• 100% Wensleydale wool
• 31 micron (coarse)
• Combed top (long fibre preparation)
• Approx. 20g per metre
• Long, smooth staple with natural sheen
Combed top is a smooth, long-fibre preparation. The raw wool is first carded to loosen and align the fibres while removing impurities. The fibre strands are then drawn through a fine comb to remove short fibres, resulting in long, parallel fibres with a smooth, lustrous finish.
This preparation gives strength, shine, and clarity to both spun yarn and felted surfaces.
Fibre fineness is measured in microns (µm), referring to the diameter of each fibre. The lower the number, the finer and softer the wool. At 31 microns, Wensleydale is coarser and more structural, making it ideal for texture and translucent effects rather than next-to-skin garments.

These locks retain their natural staple structure, creating texture, shine, and movement in finished pieces. They can be felted directly into felt surfaces or used decoratively along edges.
