Cota tinctoria, Dyer’s Chamomile, can be used for dyeing and eco printing. It is a beautiful aromatic plant and produces masses of golden yellow daisies with yellow centres from June through to September. Wonderful as drifts in borders.
Sow directly in March to April.
Will do well in most soils, but good drainage is essential. The optimum growing temperature is 21°C (70°F). Germination will usually take place within 4-7 days.

Gorgeous to the point of excess, Tagetes produce yellow and orange double, anemone like shaped flowers. Growing to a uniform height of 25 to 30cm (10 to 12in) tall with flowers from 5 to 7cm (2 to 2½in) in diameter, they have a tidy geometric look, the petals occurring in neat concentric rings and are used as dye and print.
