Care — keep hemp happy
• Wash inside‑out to reduce friction and keep the knit smooth.
• Temperature: hand‑wash cool or use a gentle 30 °C machine cycle; hotter water isn’t needed—hemp releases dirt easily.
• Detergent: choose a mild, pH‑neutral soap; avoid bleach or optical brighteners.
• Skip fabric softener. Hemp softens naturally with wear; softeners coat the fibres and reduce breathability.
• Mesh laundry bag: if washing with zips or Velcro, pop the socks in a bag to prevent snagging.
• Air‑dry flat or on a line. Tumble‑drying stresses the elastic in the cuff; hemp dries quickly in open air.
• Rotate pairs. Give socks 24 h to rest between wears so fibres rebound.
• Foot & shoe care: smooth insoles + trimmed nails = longer‑lasting socks.
• Store with cedar or lavender to deter moths and add a fresh scent.
