NETTLE SHAWL – LÁSA GLAS
100 % Nettle Fibre | Hand-knit in Nepal | Naturally Dyed in Co. Clare, Ireland
Our nettle shawls begin high in the Himalayas, where wild nettle is harvested, retted, hand-spun and hand-knit by artisans working with a fair-trade organisation (WFTO application in progress). Finished shawls travel straight to our dye house in County Clare, where we scour and colour them in small batches of five using rain-harvested water, cold-mordant methods and a botanical blend of natural indigo and pomegranate rind. The blended colours create LÁSA GLAS ~ a fresh spring green that grows softer with every wear.
Colour note: Small-batch natural dyeing means each run has its own subtle green tone further enhance by the different shades of the natural nettle fibre. A printed care card is included with every shawl.
WHY IT’S SPECIAL
• 100 % nettle fibre – gathered, spun and knit entirely by hand.
• Fair-trade supply chain – secure income for remote Nepalese families.
• Dyed in Co. Clare – rain-water studio, alum & iron only; zero heavy metals.
• Natural indigo + pomegranate – plant pigments create a lovely light green.
• Batch-dyed in small quantities – personal attention to every colour.
