Made from 100% Silk, Sari Silk is a colorful recycled fibre collected from the by-products of the Sari industry. Our fibre has been pulled into roving form and is perfect for blending, felting, and spinning. Sari Silk rovings are highly saturated in colour and can bring any art project to life. The colours are mesmerizing to say the least!

Natural mulberry silk, also known as peace silk, shiny and beautiful. Ideal for spinning, felting & craft work. Mulberry silk is also known as cultivated silk or bombyx silk. Mulberry silk is finer, softer, stronger and has more lustre than Tussah silk, but it also kills the little worm inside, which doesn't happen in the production of Tussah Silk. It's 10-13 micron and is very white and perfect for dyeing. It will add extra texture and sheen to your felted project and your spun yarn when added to batts or fleece.

Material & Processing

  • 100% Silk – luxurious and naturally lustrous, made from recycled sari weaving offcuts.

  • The fibres are carded/pulled into a soft, cohesive texture with a smooth, silky feel – ideal for spinning, felting, or adding unique textural detail.

Uses

  • Hand Spinning: Short staple fibre that requires a little extra twist – produces beautiful, glossy singles or plied yarns, perfect for art yarns or soft accessories.

  • Felting: Excellent for Nuno felting techniques, surface embellishment, or texture effects in both needle and wet felting.

  • Colour Accents: Combine with other fibres for stunning tweed-like effects or use sparingly for lustrous pops of colour in your yarn.

Care

Hand wash gently in cool water, dry flat. Some colours may run.
