much stronger than Citric Acid, Tartaric acid is used in natural dyeing to lower the pH down to 1+ and it intensifies and brightens cochineal reds.
Origin: It is a byproduct in wine making, antioxidant, E334.
Occurs naturally in grapes and bananas, for example.
