This edition of FANEEL has been dyed in-house at AppleOak FibreWorks in Co. Clare, Ireland, using our natural indigo mineral vat. Free from synthetic dyes and harsh chemicals, the colour is achieved through a slow, mindful process using plant-based indigo and small-batch dyeing techniques, creating a different kind of denim!

Our studio runs on a closed-loop, regenerative system. All water used in dyeing is collected via rainwater harvesting, and filtered through aquatic plants, gravel, and a final woodland filtration zone before returning to the environment. Worm composting is used to enrich the soil that grows our dye plants—closing the loop between land, water, and colour.

This fabric is made of 100% Mohair and is ideal for making hedgehog like spikes on small needle felted creatures as shown, or on dolls for hair.

The hairs, or quills, are slightly stiffened with gel and do indeed resemble the texture of a hedgehog, just softer! The backing is made from natural cotton.

There are three lengths of quills available (staple length). One known as "short and spiky" which is 9-11 mm, a medium staple length which is 17 mm and a long staple which is 25mm. Please see the last three pictures for comparison.

Soft, smooth, and naturally understated — LINBIO is a beautifully woven, prewashed organic linen in a gentle natural beige. With a generous width of 275cm, it’s perfectly suited to both homeware and light, breathable summer garments.

Woven from GOTS-certified flax and prewashed for ease of use, LINBIO has a clean, close weave that gives it a refined feel while remaining grounded in its natural roots. A wonderful all-rounder with plenty of possibilities.

The Fabric

LINBIO is made from 100% organically grown flax, with a smooth hand and soft drape. The cloth is prewashed and certified by Ecocert Greenlife (GOTS 268009), making it an excellent choice for both ecological sewing and everyday wear. Its oversized width allows for economical cutting, large-format projects, or pattern-efficient layouts.

This is a beautifully open-woven natural grey linen, softening dramatically after a hot wash at 90°C. With its airy, fluid drape and rustic character, it’s ideal for both layered clothing and transparent curtains with a minimalist, natural aesthetic.

True to its name, Linen Cheesecloth is also traditionally used for cheese and curd making, herb sachets, and natural wraps or poultices. Versatile, breathable, and naturally elegant.

Care

This fabric is prewashed, but will continue to soften with use. Wash at 60–90°C with a gentle, biodegradable detergent. Hang dripping wet to dry, and enjoy its naturally wrinkled character — no ironing needed.
