HAWTHORN BERRIES DYE
Dye Colour: Original Beige/Yellow | With Iron: Silver Grey, Grey Green | Country of Collection: Hungary
Hawthorn berries are rich in tannins and provide soft and earthy tones, ideal for dyeing wool and silk. The natural beige or yellow hue can be modified by adding iron, creating subtle shades of silver grey, grey, or grey-green. The resulting colours are earthy and gentle, as seen in the yarns dyed with Hawthorn, giving a timeless, organic feel to any fibre project.
In addition to dyeing, I sometimes use Hawthorn berries to slightly lower the pH in dye baths, such as when dyeing with Madder to create richer orange tones.
Colour Fastness: Poor - Medium when using a mordant.

Organic Ground, Cut, or Whole Hibiscus Flowers
Vibrant Pink & Purple Hues for Dyeing | Cultivated in Egypt
Hibiscus flowers are an excellent choice for natural dyeing, offering stunning shades from light purples to deep pinks and even greens, depending on the mordant used. Ground Hibiscus produces a lighter purple hue on wool, while cut or whole flowers yield more vibrant tones. This pH-sensitive dye is perfect for hobby dyers and children’s activities, as it offers interesting colour shifts - from green to purple to pink - and an experimental approach to dyeing.

We are stepping away from paper prints and will send out the recipe and troubleshooter for this kit by pdf
ORGANIC INDIGO FRUCTOSE VAT FOR LINEN + COTTON ~ This Kit contains everything you need to dye 100-900g of natural Yarn/Fibre/Fabric.
DYE COLOUR: Blue - can be overdyed with Reseda Yellow for green or Cochineal Red for Purple.
Why for Plant fibres only?
The Organic Vats tend to have a very high PH 12-13+ which will destroy Protein fibres like Wool and Silk over time.
Notes on the Indigo Dye Kit.
Most natural dyes aren't immediately exhausted and you can continue dyeing several more pieces. Each new dip will result in a paler colour.

SUITABILITY
Over the past year, I have noticed that many crafters use natural dye kits to dye Cotton, linen and other plant based fibres. Unknown to them, the mordanting instructions used for Wool or Silk are unsuitable for plant based fibres and often will result in pale, short lasting colours.
We have remedied that with our collection of ever growing dye kits and stand alone dye recipes. You can now choose the dye kit according to your fibre need ~ protein (wool & other animal fibres) or plant based fibres (linen, hemp, cotton)
****************************
The DYE Kit makes a lovely present too - well packaged in recyclable cardboard, the dyes come in resealable stand up bags and the recipe is printed on strong booklet paper, which can be reused again and again.

Dyeing with an Organic Indigo Vat is most enjoyable. But like with a good Sourdough, or any living culture for that matter, Organic Indigo Vats need to be kept in balance, fed and cared for in order to thrive.
This Guide, will help you in determining what you need to add in order for the Vat to keep in balance and how to maintain it, as well as giving solutions to any problems that might occur.

Yep, it is as soft and fluffy as it looks! A stunningly soft organic merino wool fleece, extremely soft yet thick and well wearing. I made myself a blanket out of it last year and there isn't a night I don't snuggle up in it. Under the duvet in winter, without a duvet in the summer. I can only highly recommend it.
Merino Wool Fleece is suitable for:
High quality Italian organic merino wool fabric, this lovely organic wool fabric is perfect for the colder months of the year. Beautifully warm, like any felted wool fabric, the cut edges don't fray, no seams necessary.
Warm, but breathable, this would make a lovely cardigan, dress, waist coat, cape, jumper, skirt, coat, jacket, poncho, shawl, leg or hand warmers, children's clothing and even cushion covers or blankets. Also sleeping bags for babies or hot water bottle covers can be made from this fabric.
Endless opportunities and even off cuts can be used for decorations.
~ Please allow 7-10 days for fabric orders fulfillment in case we don't have enough in stock, due to limited storage space. We will get in touch, should that be the case. ~Care: Brush or air out during the night, if needed wash by hand using an organic wool laundry detergent.

Neem Leaves and Spray
Neem Leaves
These Neem leaves are grown on a small organic farm in India. The farm is kbA registered (registered organic).
Available in leaf form or as spray*
Neem is very popular and is used for so many things, medicinal, anti-fungal and as insecticide. We treat all our articles with the neem oil spray in order to protect the yarns and wool from moths.
Neem oil Spray
Neem oil, cold pressed from the fruits and seeds of the Indian Neem tree. Like the Neem leaves, the oil is ideal for protecting fabric, yarn and fibers from insects and moths. I use it all the time and I have yet to see a moth!
200ml spray bottle of Neem oil contains: cold pressed Neem Oil mit 1% Azadirachitin (active ingredient in Neem oil) natural essential oils, Isopropyl - alcohol
What customers say:
"Brilliant keeps midges out too and the smell just goes away I found it quite citrus but it may smell different to each person Hubby smelled faint lemongrass"
-------
Basic Recipe (Leaves):
Sew little pouches (or use drawstring bags), just like Lavender pouches, stuff them loosely with Neem leaves, and put them into your yarn/wool storage. They smell pleasantly, but that is my opinion and so far doesn't seem to leave an odor on the yarn/wool.
100gr is enough for 5 small pouches.
Basic Recipe (Spray):
Simply spray onto your items, there is no trace of the oil or long term smell on your products. Even though the oil smells strong when applied. Pleasantly though, but that is my own opinion.
OAK BARK DYE (Quercus spp.)
Dye Colour: Golden Beige and Browns | Country of Collection: Poland
Oak Bark is a tannin-rich, natural dye source used for centuries to achieve warm, earthy tones on wool and silk. Thanks to its high tannin content, no mordant is strictly necessary, but will result in better colour fastness. Experimenting with iron and adding oak galls can deepen or modify your results. Lighter beige tones emerge with lower pH (around 5), and deeper browns develop under higher pH (around 8), though iron is a more stable solution for darker tones.
Colour Fastness: Good
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Embrace the rich tradition of oak bark dye and bring timeless, organic hues to your fibre projects—perfect for both beginners and seasoned natural dyers.

Wear your wool socks once every 2-3 days allowing wrinkles to smooth out and fibers to recover naturally. No need to wash after every wear.
Put cedar balls, lavender or other moths protecting material to your socks drawer to prevent them from early deterioration.
Take good care of your feet. It can prevent snags and tears on your socks.
